Today I am thankful for water, for the rain that has not come. I have always loved and been thankful for the rain, and the new life it brings, the clean, fresh air, and the greenness that comes with rain. I am even thankful for both drought and flood, because adversity often sweeps out the old, stagnating life, and causes us to let go of the things that keep us from growth and change. I am thankful that the Lord did not consider even the temple, built for His Name and Glory, sacred, if it was not serving His Purposes, down it came. I am thankful that He is a jealous God, who loves us enough to tear down the false idols in our lives that we may know Him who is the only and true Truth. I am thankful that His Mercies are new each morning. I am thankful that though we may turn our backs on God, He never turns His back on ours. I am thankful for smiles, and for tears. For joy and for sorrow. For love and for grief; for it is the sorrow, grief and pain that make love, peace, joy so meaningful. I am thankful that our Father’s heart is to bless us with a rich, deep life full of meaning, purpose and His Glory.
