We are a family on a journey. Our journey has taken us some fascinating places. We have lived overseas for 23 years, raised 4 of our 5 children in another culture, and returned to the U.S. three years ago to be near aging parents and to help our children adjust to the “home” that seems like a foreign country to them.
Three and a half years ago we began experiencing one of the most incredibly painful seasons in our lives when we temporarily lost one of our dearest loved ones to a cult. During this time we also felt led to pursue learning how to run a home-business.
Through these various experiences we have learned the value of seeking Wisdom from our Creator and Redeemer. Recently I discovered that I sometimes learn best when I write things out, so I write for my own learning journey. Perhaps someone else may be blessed or encouraged as we share our journey. Or perhaps someone may have insight or encouragement to share with us that my help us see things a little differently than before. Thirty plus years ago I heard a teacher state, “God does not impart all His wisdom to only one man.” I have never forgotten that statement, and realize that we all need to examine what we learn, hear and read from others against the plumb-line of God’s Word. I also realize that often times our minds are in a rut of how we perceive the information and experiernces that come our way. As finite humans, we do not know what we do not know, and we greatly benefit from interacting with others who think differently than we do. It can help us to have those “aha” moments when we reailze that we have only been observing one side of a two sided coin. Thus, we welcome, invite and encourage honest and thoughtful comments and questions. Proverbs tells us that as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. We welcome sharpening.
